Hello Neighbors,
People often ask me, “What is the purpose of the Huntington Woods HOA?”
This question comes in various forms and attitudes, and I want to address it with compassion and clarity. Legally, the HOA is tasked with the following responsibilities:
- Maintain Common Areas: We ensure the upkeep of shared spaces such as parks, the swimming pool, landscaping, and other amenities to keep our community beautiful and functional.
- Enforce Rules and Regulations: Our goal is to maintain property values and ensure a cohesive community aesthetic by enforcing community rules and covenants.
- Financial Management: We collect dues from homeowners to fund the maintenance and improvement of common areas, community projects, and services. Proper financial management allows us to plan for future expenses and ensure financial stability.
- Dispute Resolution: We mediate disputes between neighbors and address violations of community rules to help resolve conflicts and maintain harmony within the community.
- Regulatory Compliance: We ensure that our community complies with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, particularly those related to property management, safety, and environmental standards.
However, your Huntington Woods HOA is designed to do much more than just fulfill these legal requirements. As your elected Board, we are dedicated to fostering a welcoming, secure, and highly valued community—a place where everyone feels proud to call home. This is our home too, and everything we implement within the community is guided by these principles.
We believe in complete transparency when making decisions or implementing actions. To ensure this, our names, phone numbers, and emails are included in the Newsletter and are also available online on our website. I encourage you to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. If you notice something that does not seem right, please call me at 828-455-1242 rather than trying to correct it yourself. I genuinely care about your concerns and want to address them.
We also hold public meetings each quarter to allow you to meet the Board personally, ask questions, and express your opinions. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, August 13th, at the Highland Rec Center at 6:30 PM.
Thank you for allowing us to represent your interests. We are here to help in any way possible. I look forward to seeing you on August 13th or sooner.
Steve Clark, HOA President
