Our New Friends and Neighbors

I just had the pleasure of visiting Huntington Woods’ youngest resident, Emerie Oliver, age thirteen months. She will charm all who meet her.

Emerie is the great-niece of Mikeal Harrison and lives in Unit 1756 with her parents, Anna and Jimmy Oliver, and twelve-year-old sister Nevaeh. As is true for many of us, Anna and Jimmy are parents to yours, mine, and ours. Their children also include Chasity Oliver, age fourteen, living in Burke County with her mother, and Elijah Wright, age sixteen, living in Caldwell County with his grandmother. Elijah has the good fortune to attend Early College at Caldwell Community College and didn’t want to leave his school.

Anna, Mikeal Harrison’s niece, inherited his townhome here. She and Jimmy are lifelong residents of Caldwell County but are now happy to live in our community.

Anna is a teacher at North Liberty, a school for special needs children, in Burke County. She studied education at Lenoir Rhyne University and with South New Hampshire University to enable her to work with children who have severe and profound needs, many of whom are non-verbal.

Jimmy works in furniture manufacturing as a wood machinist for E.J. Victor, a maker of handcrafted quality furniture.

As you might guess, most of their travels have been to family-fun spots, e.g., the beach, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge in Tennessee, and Florida. Anna’s favorite place that she has visited is the Amish Country in Pennsylvania. Some time ago, her Uncle Mike gave her the gift of a trip to New York City and the Amish Country. She appreciated New York City but fell completely in love with the natural and rural beauty of the rolling hills of the Amish Country. While there, it was also fun to visit where the movie Witness, starring Harrison Ford was filmed.

Mountain biking, golfing, hunting, and fishing are all activities that Jimmy considers his hobbies. Reading and the family walks they take in the evening around the neighborhood are the favorites for Anna.

During their walks, they are meeting neighboring dogs and their humans. Just like many of us, they often learn the dog’s name before they learn the names of their humans.

Welcome Oliver Family to Huntington Woods. We are happy to have you in our community.
