Scam Reminders

Scammer continue to reach out with new ways of sepa-rating us from our money and security. Following are just a few of the latest scams:

  • Fake Toll Road 2025 Text Scams
  • Data Breach 2025: Quantas, Krispy Kreme, North Face, and More
  • CCS Payment Scam: How Fake Debt Collectors Try to Trick You
  • Urgent Telephone Calls From A Business or Service Giving A Telephone Number To Call

Most of my doctors are part of the Catawba Valley Health System and I recently had a brief visit to the hospital, so it wasn’t a surprise to have a message left on my phone to call their business office. However the telephone number that I was asked to call just didn’t seem correct to me. So I checked my own records and also went to their website to verify the official listed telephone numbers. So I called the officially listed number and explained about the telephone message that I had received. They checked their records and there was definitely no reason for anyone to have asked me to call. Scammers calling!
I continue to receive these calls, but as I never answer, they will eventually go away, but there will be others. I just never answer an incoming number that I do not know.
Fingers crossed, they won’t win with me or your either!

Pool Update

We hope that everyone is having a great summer, regardless of the heat! We are indeed a fortunate group of folks to have a pool in our community to combat the sweltering temperatures that we have been enduring.

Maintaining a community pool is not an inexpensive endeavor but worth it for all the folks who own or rent here and pay for this amenity. With this said, we have noticed that there are folks from outside the community and large groups of guests accessing the pool on occasion. This has created, at times, a less-than-relaxing experience for some in our community. For these reasons, we will be rolling out a very simple program over the next few weeks to help identify those who access our pool. More information on this to follow. In the meantime, please refamiliarize yourself with all pool rules as listed in the last newsletter and online.

And most of all, please enjoy our pool and have a safe a fantastic rest of the summer.

Notes from the President – August

Community, Care, and Consideration

Summer is upon us in Huntington Woods, and with the warm days come endless opportunities to enjoy our beautiful neighborhood. As we embrace the season, we’d like to highlight three simple things that can make this summer truly great for everyone who calls our community home.

1. Remember, We Live in Community

There’s something special about living in Huntington Woods, where neighbors greet each other by name and lend a hand when needed. Let’s continue to look out for one another—whether it’s offering a friendly hello, helping a neighbor bring in groceries, or simply respecting each other’s space and property. These small acts of kindness strengthen our sense of belonging and ensure that Huntington Woods remains the safe, welcoming, and highly valued neighborhood we all cherish.

2. The Pool Requires Everyone’s Effort

Our community pool is a centerpiece of summer fun, and its enjoyment depends on all of us doing our part. Please remember to follow posted rules, supervise children, clean up after yourself, and be mindful of others using the space. Simple gestures—like returning chairs to their proper place and keeping noise to a considerate level—help maintain a relaxing and safe environment for all. Together, we can make every pool day enjoyable and safe.

3. Speeding is Never a Good Idea

As more families are out walking and playing during the summer, it’s crucial to keep our streets safe. Please observe posted speed limits and watch for children and pedestrians throughout the neighborhood. Slowing down not only prevents accidents but also signals to our neighbors that we care about their well-being. Let’s all make a habit of mindful driving, ensuring our streets remain a place where everyone feels secure.

We’re also delighted to see new faces joining our community this season! To all our new members: welcome to Huntington Woods. We look forward to getting to know you and hope you feel right at home. Here’s to a safe, enjoyable, and community-minded summer for everyone!
