The City of Hickory charged us homeowners with a $300 contamination fee due to garbage in the recycling bins. We cannot continue to use homeowner dues to pay fines. Our continued carelessness of placing incorrect items in the blue recycling carts will cost homeowners the opportunity to recycle and help our county.
Please remember that only approved recycling items go in the blue recycling carts. Garbage must be placed in the large metal dumpsters.
