Our new neighbors, Lana and Kevin Bailey, Unit 1724, are very happy to be in Huntington Woods. Like so many of us, they love the style of our townhomes, all the trees, and natural look of our community.
Kevin is a Charlotte native. Lana was from WinstonSalem and moved to Asheville when she was ten. They love the North Carolina mountains and our beautiful coastline. They have spent most of their adult lives in Western North Carolina, including Hickory and the Bethlehem areas. Their most recent home was in Oliver’s Landing.
In 1987 Lana and Kevin met while attending Appalachian State University and were married in 1993. She majored in early childhood development, although that has not been her career field. Kevin majored in business administration, which has been used throughout his interesting career as an entrepreneur. Kevin and Lana have one son, Max Bailey, who lives in Longview and works for his parents. Their family also includes two dogs, Louie, a French Bulldog (who doesn’t bark like a normal dog, so don’t be afraid!) and Eddie, a mixed bread and is mostly deaf.
Currently they each lead their own Hickory companies. Lana is the owner of the store, Vintage Blue: Mid Century to Modern Furniture and Décor, www.vintagebluehickory.com.
Kevin makes and sells live edge tables from exotic woods at Live Edge Living Co., www.liveedgelivingco.com.
Every year for two weeks, they take a trip to their favorite place, Cabo San Lucas. They travel there to observe the Gray Whales migrating through as they travel to their birthing site in the bay of Ojo de Liebre Lagoon from Alaska.
They had a happy surprise when they decided on their unit in Huntington Woods and discovered that Gloria Tart, a friend of many years, lived next door.
