Board Notes – September 2022

Financials

During the month of July, we continued to build our Reserve Account and kept Operating Expenses low and well within our budget. This is important as there remain many repairs needed to several units in the community and the fact that, as our units age, roofs will eventually need to be replaced. The balance in each account at the end of the month was Operating Account $42,783. Reserve $61,110.

Landscaping

One of the attractions of Huntington Woods is our trees. Unfortunately we had to take several down that were dying or already dead. We plan to replant several next month or early October. The tree service also limbed up trees that were hanging over some units and in the roadways. They did an excellent job and will return in a couple weeks to remove some stumps.

The Hickory stormwater engineer works with the volunteer group, Riverkeepers, and he was able to get our creek on the list for stream cleanup. The date is Saturday,October 1,2022. They will set up at Highland Park and disperse from there. They are still in the early phases, but I hope to have flyers soon. Hopefully we can have volunteers from Huntington Woods since this will benefit our community.Look for more information to come.

Swimming Pool

There is no closing date at this point for the pool. The decision of when to close will be made based on the chemical balance of the pool and weather.
